Telkom Wins Best State-Owned Enterprise Award
Jakarta. Telkom Indonesia was recognized as the country's best state-owned enterprise during the 2018 SOE Mental Revolution Awards in Jakarta on April 25.
The country's largest telecommunications services company also won gold in the Indonesia Melayani Terbaik category and silver in the Indonesia Bersih Terbaik category.
Dharma Syahputra, Telkom vice president of human capital strategic management, accepted the awards on behalf of the company.
Herdy Harman, the company's director of human capital management, meanwhile said at a separate occasion that the awards are acknowledgment that the Telkom Group has implemented the principles of the government's so-called Mental Revolution while transitioning to the digital sphere.
He said Telkom achieved this through effective management and the creation of an enjoyable working environment, starting from recruitment and training, up to retirement, to foster a committed and professional workforce. These efforts include work-life integration, implementation of a smart office, organizing festivals, adjusting working hours and starting an employee volunteer program.
"This award will be great inspiration for us at Telkom to continuously improve our workforce in the future, ensuring our place as the best digital telecommunications company in the country," Herdy said.
The Mental Revolution has been a boon for Telkom, which experienced substantial growth and progress last year.
During the event, presented by SOE Track magazine, Telkom subsidiary Telkomsigma also won several prestigious awards, including gold in the Best Leader Mental Revolution Application category, gold in the Best Mental Revolution Work Program category and silver in the Best Service category.
Telkom Indonesia International (Telin) meanwhile also won a silver award in the Best State-Owned Enterprise Indonesia category.
The SOE Mental Revolution Awards seek to recognize efforts by state-owned enterprises in implanting the five programs of the Mental Revolution, which are the Serve Indonesia Movement, Clean Indonesia Movement, Orderly Indonesia Movement, Unite Indonesian Movement and Independent Indonesia Movement.
Companies undergo a tight selection process to qualify for the awards. This includes the completion of questionnaires and facing a jury chaired by former State-Owned Enterprises Minister Soegiharto. Of the 83 participants, 52 companies and subsidiaries passed the final selection process.
The purpose of the SOE Mental Revolution Awards is to measure how effective state-owned enterprises and their subsidiaries are in the implementation of the programs and to recognize their successes.
The Telkom Group has expressed its gratitude to all parties who have shown their appreciation of the company. It said this achievement will serve to motivate the company's management and employees to always provide customers with the best service.
