TelkomGroup Strives for Expansion of Capital Connectivity in Remote Area
In an effort to expand the broadband backbone network that connects the capital city in remote areas, PT Telkom Indonesia (Telkom) through its subsidiary PT Infrastruktur Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom Infra) has successfully integrated and implemented loading traffic link segment of Larantuka - Kalabahi - Atambua at the beginning of last week.
The integration and loading of traffic links marks the completion of optical cable rolling of Aceh Marine Cable Communication System, Sibolga, Batam, Larantuka (SKKL ASBL) with a total length of 770 km connecting 5 SKKL link segments, Sabang with Aceh (44 km), Simeleu with Bakongan (142 km), Sibolga with Nias (156 km), Larantuka with Atambua (354 km), and Batam with Tanjung Balai Karimun (73 km).
Telkom's Director of Network & IT Solutions, Zulhelfi Abidin said that the development of SKKL ASBL is also an effort to improve the quality of TelkomGroup services, especially in eastern Indonesia. "In addition to connecting cities such as Sabang, Simelue, Kalabahi, Gunung Sitoli and Tanjung Balai Karimun, the rollout of SKKL ASBL is also aimed to meet the needs of customer traffic capacity and improve the quality of TelkomGroup services in East Nusa Tenggara," Zulhelfi said.
Zulhelfi continued, with the implementation of SKKL ASBL, TelkomGroup hopes to accelerate the equality of telecommunication access to various regions of Indonesia, including the capital city in remote areas. "Currently, TelkomGroup is building a broadband network reaching 457 IKK throughout Indonesia, and will continue to work to connect all regency capitals across Indonesia.
