Bank Bukopin President Director Glen Glenardi Resigns After 12 Years at the Helm
Jakarta. Glen Glenardi, the president director of Bank Bukopin, one of Indonesia's major mid-size lenders, has resigned for an undisclosed reason after 12 years at the helm, the bank said in a statement to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) on Thursday (04/01).
"We received Glen's resignation letter on Jan. 2," Tantri Wulandari, Bukopin's corporate secretary, said in the statement.
Glen led Bukopin since 2005, having spent all of his banking career at the lender. In the past six years, he guided Bukopin to double its assets to Rp 113 trillion ($8.4 billion) from Rp 57 trillion in 2011.
The president director's resignation request is subject to approval from the lender's shareholders, who are scheduled to hold an extraordinary general meeting next Wednesday.
Bosowa Corporindo, part of Aksa Mahmud's Bosowa group, controls 30 percent of the shares in Bukopin.
Kopelindo, the staff co-operative at state procurement agency Bulog, has 18.09 percent of the bank's shares and the Indonesian government has 11 percent. The remainder of the shares are publicly owned.
