"At one of Indonesia Mengglobal events, I met other Indonesians who had been accepted or graduated from top MBA programs. They helped me in re-wiriting and editing my essays for my MBA applications, making it sharper, bolder and more concise."

- Ayu Kartika Dewi, alumni of Airlangga University and an attendee of Indonesia Mengglobal Coffee Chat, accepted to MBA program at Fuqua (Duke), Kellogg (Northwestern) and Haas (Berkeley).

Indonesia Mengglobal, an online portal to inspire, encourage and support Indonesians to pursue education abroad is now opening a mentorship program and you are welcomed to apply.

How is the mentorship program done?

The mentorship program will run for three months — from June to September 2013 — where mentors and their mentees will fortnightly discuss different topics, according to school application needs and processes, such as standardized tests, writing essays, getting recommendations, scholarships and so on.

The method is virtual seminar between mentors and mentees, where the latter are going to be doing individual assignments. The program helps to ensure mentees preparing school application accordingly and on schedule to finally be submitted for 2014 academic semester.

Who can apply?

This program is open to mentees who intend to apply for 2014 academic semester, whether it is bachelor (S1), masters (S2) or PhD (S3). Schools or universities that mentees apply to are not limited to a certain location, so you can pretty much apply to any overseas university whether it is in America, Asia, Australia or Europe.

We are aware that school application process is a personal matter; therefore we will maintain the confidentiality of all data including selected mentees’ identities. We also invite Indonesian students and alumni who have experiences studying abroad whether it is for bachelor degree, master degree or PhD to apply as mentors and participate in a joint effort to educate Indonesian best and brightest minds.

How is the selection mechanism?

Indonesia Mengglobal will match mentors and mentees based on academic achievements, mentees’ extracurricular, mentees’ compatibility to the programs applied, and also mentees’ commitments to mentors and this program.

Application is open until June 12, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB) and those who are selected will be announced on June 19.
