SilkAir Appoints New Chief Executive
Singapore. SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, announced the appointment of Foo Chai Woo as its new chief executive on Wednesday (20/04).
Foo will replace Leslie Thng, who led the SilkAir team since August 2012.
Foo is SilkAir's former divisional vice president of sales and marketing. He was also Singapore Airlines' regional vice president for North America and general manager for India.
With almost 21 years of service at Singapore Airlines, Foo has held senior positions in network planning, market planning and reservation services.
"During Leslie's leadership, SilkAir continued to grow both its network and its fleet in support of its role as Singapore Airlines' regional wing," SilkAir chairman Mak Swee Wah said.
"I look forward to working closely with Foo in his new position, as SilkAir continues to expand its operations, providing more travel options to customers across the region," Mak added.
Foo will begin his term as chief executive on May 18.
