Chatty Indonesians Get to Book Uber Easier With LINE
Jakarta. Uber, an online ride-hailing service, now allows its customers to use LINE application for booking their trips.
LINE users do not even need to download the Uber app to use its service. They only have to add Uber Indonesia's official account in LINE, open a chatroom and touch "request-a-ride" button on their smartphone's screen to order a ride in Jakarta, Bandung (West Java), Yogyakarta and Surabaya (East Java).
"Uber is dedicated to finding new ways to connect people with safe, reliable transportation services at the push of a button," Uber Indonesia managing director Alan Jiang said in a statement on Friday (15/12).
"LINE users demanded transportation options. To meet the demand, we collaborate with Uber," LINE Indonesia managing director Ongki Kurniawan said.
According to the statement, customers are entitled to a 60 percent discount on their second ride ordered via LINE.
A similar collaboration was established by LINE with another ride-hailing service Gojek in February.
Indonesia is among LINE's top four users, after Japan, Taiwan and Thailand.
