Link Net, IDX Channel Launch First Stock Market TV Channel in HD
Jakarta. Link Net, a broadband internet provider and subsidiary of First Media Group, has collaborated with the IDX Channel TV station, a subsidiary of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, to launch Indonesia's first and only high-definition capital market TV channel in Jakarta on Monday (05/12).
The IDX Channel HD will be shown on Channel 398 on First Media, the same channel as the previous non-HD IDX Channel.
According to Link Net president director Irwan Djaja, the IDX Channel HD will help viewers access comprehensive information about activities at the IDX.
IDX Channel operations director Oscar Herliansyah also expressed the same hope for the channel.
"We hope the IDX Channel HD can become a guide for investors and stakeholders in Indonesia," he said.
This is not the first time Link Net has partnered with the IDX, since it has actually been providing high-speed internet connection to the stock exchange building in the past 16 years.
It is another step in Link Net's foray to the corporate segment after launching its First Media Business.
"After this success story, we seek to collaborate with other partners to provide services for the corporate segment in this business," Irwan said.
IDX Channel HD, so far Indonesia's only stock market TV channel, starts airing today with key programs, such as Movers & Shakers, News Screen and Market Headlines.
The original IDX Channel was launched by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo" in August last year, and has 3.4 million subscribers to date according to an official statement.
