Lippo Malls Indonesia Eyes 15% Increase in Visitor Traffic
Jakarta. Lippo Malls Indonesia, mall operator of property developer Lippo Karawaci, targets a 15-percent growth in the number of visitors this year, an official statement released on Sunday (26/02) said.
Last year, the number of visitors reached 350 million, marking a 10 percent increase from 2015.
Lippo Malls has three strategies to achieve the target: upgrading the tenancy mix in its malls, keeping up with the dynamics of consumers' lifestyle and improving loyalty programs.
"With these strategies and our experience in operating 67 malls across Indonesia, we are optimistic the number of visitors will increase by 15 percent," Lippo Malls Indonesia executive director Marshall Martinus said.
This year, the company plans to open two malls in Jakarta and Jember, East Java, which will occupy 100,000 square meters of constructed floor area (CFA), with total leasable area of 40,000 square meters.
"Lippo Malls has also prepared 40 mall-development projects across Indonesia — in the greater Jakarta area, Sumatra, Central Java, West Java and Eastern Indonesia — setting aside Rp 20 trillion [$1.5 billion] in capital expenditure," Marshall added.
By the end of 2016, Lippo Malls had 3.6 million square meters of CFA and partnered with 12,000 tenants.
