IMBEX 2017 Offers Products and Educational Workshops for Moms and Kids
Jakarta. Having kids brings happiness to life. Many things, however, must be prepared to welcome them in our families.
On Dec. 1-3, Reed Panorama Exhibitions (RPE) is going to present the 2017 Indonesia Maternity, Baby & Kids Expo (IMBEX) at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).
"IMBEX is a yearly event by Reed Panorama Exhibitions since 2009," RPE assistant project director Maria Achti said during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday (22/11).
"[The expo] is the right place for families with little kids or those preparing for them," Maria said. "In one weekend, you can get all that you will need for your children."
There are more than 300 local and international tenants offering maternity, baby and kids products, including fashion, toys, toiletries and hygiene products, as well as healthy food, milk and nutrients.
The expo is supported by the Indonesian Toy Traders and Manufacturers Association (APMI) and the Association of Toy Importers in Indonesia (AIMI).
"Many of our members participate in the expo," APMI secretary general Johan S. Tandanu said.
"It is a great opportunity for our members to re-introduce Indonesian toys to today's kids."
Some of the Indonesian toys presented are wooden toys by small and medium enterprises from Central and East Java.
"IMBEX is a great event for us. Our members can promote the toys that they're importing to Indonesian kids and their parents at the expo," AIMI vice chairman Bart Nureka said.
Both AIMI and APMI ensure that the toys offered are already certified in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI).
"In compliance with SNI requirements, all our products are safe for kids, don't contain any harmful chemicals and are non-flammable," Bart said.
One of AIMI members at IMBEX is Toys Kingdom Indonesia.
"This year, we're going to offer our latest exclusive collections of toys, kids' luggage and cutlery sets with discounts up to 50 percent. We'll also have a photo competition at our booth with shopping vouchers as prizes," Toys Kingdom Indonesia senior manager Benita Rosamulia said.
Beside toys, the most favorite products at the expo are strollers and car seats for infants.
"They are always the best sellers at IMBEX. These products are usually offered at huge discounts towards the end of the year. You can see all the varieties at our event," Maria said.
Educational workshops for parents hosted by doctors and experts will complement the exhibition.
"We're going to present workshops about breastfeeding, supplementary meals [MPASI] and nutrition," said Kidung Ardha Marsella, secretary of Exclusive Pumping Mama Indonesia, a community that promotes breastfeeding.
"Parents can also come to our booth and consult us about anything regarding breastfeeding, health and nutrition for free," she said.
The organizer collaborates with ride-hailing service Grab for the event.
"There will be 50 percent and 100 percent discounts for visitors taking Grab to come to our event. Just follow our social media accounts for more information about it," Maria said.
The organizer also provides a nursing room, a diaper-changing room, luggage storage and free Wi-Fi at JCC during the event.
A wide array of attractions for children will be offered to keep them entertained.
"Our event is intended for families," Maria said. "We want all family members to enjoy it."
The organizer expects around 39,000 visitors and Rp 39 billion ($2,89 million) in transactions from the three-day event.
