Batik Air Adds Denpasar and Banjarmasin Routes Ahead of Busy Holiday Season
Jakarta. Batik Air, a subsidiary of Lion Air Group, Indonesia's largest budget airline operator, opened two new flights from the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Friday (23/12).
Batik Air added a flight to Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar and to Syamsudin Noor Airport in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, president director of Lion Air Group Edward Sirait said in a statement.
The airline, which has just passed the International Air Transport Association's operational safety audit, will run daily return flights on both routes.
The routes have been opened as local airlines are gearing up for increased traffic during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Batik Air said it will provide 7,200 additional seats in order to accommodate the surge of passengers during the period.
