Hacktiv8 Opens Coding Boot Camp Program in Jakarta
Jakarta. Hacktiv8, a Jakarta-based training company, is set to open its first intensive coding course aimed at creating job-ready web developers as part of the efforts to supply much-needed trained workers in one of Asia's hotspots for tech-startups.
The RMKB Ventures-backed training company opened the registration period for its intensive 12-week, 11-hours a day coding course starting on Aug. 1, the company said in a statement on Monday (13/06).
"The rise of funded startups in the past two years alone is creating a huge developer crunch," Hacktiv8 managing director Ronald Ishak said. "Venture-backed companies are willing to pay more for developers while the developer pool isn't growing fast enough."
Hacktiv8 partnered up with well-known names in tech-startups industry such as Go-Jek, Tokopedia, and the Jakarta Globe's sister company MatahariMall to provide its graduates with jobs right after graduation.
The program costs Rp 30 million ($2,000) for the first two batches. Multiple scholarships are available, the company said in a statement.
The company expects its graduates to earn between Rp 10 million and Rp 16 million a month, compared with Rp 4 million to Rp 6 million on average for fresh graduates in the similar line of work.
Hacktiv8 is also working with lending platform KoinWorks to provide students with tailored student financing.
