Jakarta. PP Properti, the property developer unit of state-construction firm Pembangunan Perumahan, started on Monday (27/03) construction of its newest hotel in Surabaya, East Java.
"This hotel is expected to increase our recurring income and open more job opportunities for the benefit of local residents," finance manager of PP Properti's subsidiary Gitanusa Sarana Niaga George Ngantung said in a statement.
The hotel, located close to Surabaya's downtown, is going to be managed by Pro Hotel brand and will cater to especially families and businesses.
PP Properti's hotel, shopping mall and office building businesses contributed a recurring income of Rp 134 billion ($1.5 million) last year, up 7.8 percent from 2015.
That, however, was still small compared to the company's revenue from property sales that reached to Rp 2.01 trillion, or 45 percent more than in the previous year.
