Jakarta. State-owned construction company Waskita Karya appointed former National Police chief Badrodin Haiti as president commissioner on Friday (25/11) to replace Mohamad Hasan.

"The commissioner is a representative of the stakeholder, so the new president commissioner is appointed by the minister of state-owned enterprises," Waskita president director M. Choliq told reporters.

He did not provide specific reasons for the appointment.

Waskita Karya said it had left the post of operations director vacant following the departure of Desi Arryani, who was appointed as president director at state-controlled toll operator Jasa Marga.

She occupied the post at Waskita Karya since 2013.

Waskita Karya booked Rp 1.1 trillion ($81 million) in profit in the first nine months of this year, up 171.7 percent compared to the same period last year.

Badrodin will ensure that the company maintains efforts to double its profit on the back of the government's infrastructure projects.
