KOI Secretary General Dody Iswandi Named Suspect in Asian Games Graft Case
Jakarta. Dody Iswandi, the secretary general of the Indonesian Olympic committee, or KOI, has been named a graft suspect for a marketing project ahead of the 2018 Asian Games, police said on Sunday (04/12).
Jakarta Police corruption sub-directorate head Adj. Sr. Comr. Ferdy Irawan said Dody is allegedly responsible for budget irregularities in Carnaval Road – a 2018 Asian Games project – in Surabaya, East Java.
"He was named a suspect around two weeks ago. He was questioned by police investigators last week," Ferdy said, as reported by news outlet Tribunnews.
Police informed KOI of his status on Nov. 22.
Carnaval Road to the 2018 Asian Games featured match exhibitions, meets-and-greets with Olympians and live musical performances and was held simultaneously in six cities in late December 2015.
The event was organized by the Indonesia Asian Games Organizing Committee (Inasgoc) where Dody previously served as secretary general.
