Jakarta. Indonesia's national antigraft agency named four suspects in a bribery case involving high-ranking state auditors and officials on Saturday (27/05) following sting operations in two separate locations in Jakarta a day earlier.

The Corruption Eradication Commission, or KPK, named Sugito, an inspector general at the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration; Jarot Budi Prabowo, a high-ranking official at the ministry; and two Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) auditors, Rochmadi Saptogiri and Ali Sadli, as suspects.

"During sting operations at the BPK office on Jalan Gatot Subroto and at the headquarters of the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration on Jalan TMP Kalibata, the KPK detained seven people," KPK Chairman Agus Rahardjo said in a press conference.

KPK Deputy Chairman Laode M. Syarief said Sugito is accused of bribing BPK auditors to obtain an "unqualified opinion" — the best possible audit outcome — for the ministry's 2016 financial report.

KPK investigators seized Rp 40 million ($3,000) in cash from Ali Sadli's office, presumably part of a Rp 240 million kickback payment from the ministry official to acquire the audit result.

KPK also took Rp 1.15 billion and $3,000 from Rochmadi's office but the antigraft agency has yet to determine the link between the money and the case.

The press conference was broadcast live on KPK's Twitter account.
