Flash Flood Kills Two in East Lombok
Jakarta. A flood caused by torrential rains in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, has killed two near the Pandandure dam, destroying hundreds of houses in four subdistricts, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, or BNPB, said on Sunday (19/11).
On Saturday night, the flash flood swept 367 houses, 14 bridges and a mosque, BNPN spokesman Sutopo Nugroho said in a statement.
He said rescuers found two bodies.
Although the rains have stopped, in several places residents remain at shelters, as floodwater still blocks transportation infrastructure.
