Jakarta. Sales of motorcycles in Indonesia fell 26.9 percent in June from a year earlier, data from an industry association showed on Thursday (14/07).
This is the biggest drop since July 2016, according to Thomson Reuters data.
A total of 379,467 motorbikes were sold in June, down from 518,878 a year ago. The number is also significantly lower than the 531,496 bikes sold in May.
Motorcycles are hugely popular in Southeast Asia's biggest economy and their sales figures are a key indicator of consumption.
The June sales were led by Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki, data showed.
