Triwarno, Kebumen. Every year, the takbiran night, which precedes Idul Fitri, attracts thousands of people to Triwarno village in Kebumen, Central Java, to light paper lanterns and release them into the evening sky.

The number of lanterns is equal to the current Hijri year of the Islamic lunar calendar — this year, 1439 lamps brightened Triwarno's firmament.
The luminous event was initiated by the village's youth to welcome their extended family members and neighbors who arrived home for the Idul Fitri celebrations.
