Lunar Year 2569, which according to the Chinese zodiac is the Year of the Dog (Anjing Tanah), was celebrated in Jakarta on Friday (02/02). The dog is associated with energy and good things as the animal symbolizes luck.

Several shopping centers in Jakarta held events to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Ciputra Mall in West Jakarta presented a special show featuring various attractions, including poodles, a wushu demonstration, a performance by harpist Angela July, a potehi puppet show from Surabaya, East Java, and Barongsai Patok Besi, a Chinese dragon dance, which was the main event.
