Pertamina Ex-Directors Questioned in Graft Inquiry
Jakarta. Police on Tuesday (25/07) said they have questioned two former directors of state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina in an investigation into the company's asset sale, which reportedly caused state losses of billions of rupiah.
Former president director Karen Agustiawan and former general director Waluyo were among five questioned as witnesses, said Sr. Comr. Indarto of the National Police's Corruption Investigation unit.
Karen led Pertamina from 2009 to 2014. In 2011, the company sold a 1,000-square meter plot in South Jakarta. The transaction made the state lose some Rp 40 billion ($3.75 million), according to the Supreme Audit Agency.
Police have been investigating the case since December last year, and have so far questioned 27 witnesses. Pertamina senior vice president for asset management Gathot Harsono was named a graft suspect last month.
