Artika-Whulandary Beauty Camp to Mold Future for Beauty Pageants
Jakarta. Puteri Indonesia beauty pageant alumna Whulandary Herman and Artika Sari Devi will soon open the ArtikaWhulandary Beauty Camp to sharpen the skills of Indonesian women who are interested in joining local or international beauty pageants, Whulandary told media in Jakarta last week.
“The Beauty Camp is initiated by me and Artika Sari Devi. We want to prepare the people who are passionate in the beauty pageant world and we are open to all sorts of beauty pageants such as Asian Next Top Model, Miss Indonesia or Puteri Indonesia,” Whulandary said.
With the tagline “The Younique You,” the ArtikaWhulandary Beauty Camp will guide participants to present themselves in front of the pageant jury. The full three-day course will also bring other experts in the beauty pageant fields, such as Indonesian designer Barli Asmara and photographer Hakim Satriyo. Former Puteri Indonesia will also make appearance during the program as facilitators.
Whulandary announced the names of selected participants on her Instagram page on Sunday. The first batch of participants will start their quarantine process on the third week of August (19 to 21).
Artika Sari Devi was crowned the winner of the Puteri Indonesia beauty pageant in 2004. She was alsothe first Indonesian candidate to break into the top 15 semifinalists in the Miss Universe contest in 2005. Whulandary Herman won the Puteri Indonesia contest in 2013 and was the Runner-Up for 3 Best National Costume in Miss Universe 2013.
