Jakarta. A home decor and design exhibition, known as Homedec, will return for the third time to Indonesia Convention Exhibition center located at Bumi Serpong Damai in Tangerang on Sept. 28.

The four-day event will bring together 250 home furniture companies, including interior designers, furniture manufacturers and craftsmen from Indonesia and Malaysia. They will showcase their latest designs and home furnishing products.

"There has been an increase in [demand] for renovation and home development solutions. To cater to the demand, Homedec continues to innovate and provide value-added services to exhibitors and customers," Citra Inovasi Strategi Exhibition business development manager, Linda Leoni, said in a statement on Wednesday (03/05).

Homedec first launched in 2003 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to provide a marketplace and platform for exhibitors in the home renovation and home decor industry.

Organized by Malaysian-based event management firm C.I.S Network and its Indonesian counterpart CIS Exhibition, the event will feature more than 200 brands, most of which are Malaysian made.

"Homedec is the perfect exhibition for anyone who needs special products for the needs of his or her dream home," CIS Exhibition sales director, Andri Hermawan, said in a press conference at Decanter Wine and Food restaurant in South Jakarta on Wednesday.

He added that the exhibition will provide a platform for vendors to sell their products directly to visitors without the interference of an agent.

"We want to make the experience for our shoppers convenient and easy. Homeowners that want to renovate their houses can get anything under one roof."

Following the success of its event last year, this year's event is expected to attract 23,000 patrons.

"We had more than 18,000 patrons last year," Andri said. "The domestic market is definitely growing."

In contrast with last year's event, Homedec 2017 will provide a workshop about smart shopping for new homeowners.

Shoppers can also look forward to an array of attractive lucky draw prizes.

"The registering procedure is very simple. Shoppers only need to register at the entrance to have a chance to win some home appliances and shopping vouchers."

In addition to the event, Homedec 2017 is also collaborating with the Indonesian Society of Interior Designers (HDII) to provide homeowners with a free consultation during the event.

"We encourage homeowners to bring their house plans so they can directly consult with [interior designers]," Andri said.
