Sigur Rós, Foals to Headline Singapore's Neon Lights Festival
Jakarta. Neon Lights Festival, the annual outdoor music and arts festival in Singapore, will return this November with Icelandic post-rockers Sigur Rós and British band Foals as the headliners.
The festival will be held from November 26 to 27 at the city's Fort Canning Park, following its debut last year which featured the likes of Chic and Nile Rodgers, Damien Rice and Rachael Yamagata.
Sigur Rós, the critically acclaimed post-rock group fronted by Jon Thor "Jónsi" Birgisson, will make the festival their only Southeast Asian gig this year. The last time they performed live in Singapore was in 2012, according to Channel News Asia.
The indie rock band Foals, meanwhile, is currently in the middle of a world tour spanning the US, Europe and Latin America before making stops in Singapore and Hong Kong in November.
"We are absolutely thrilled to have acts with the global profile and prestige of Foals and Sigur Rós headlining Neon Lights 2016," said festival director Declan Forde in a statement. "Both acts have established fan bases in Singapore and will be playing full-length sets."
According to the festival's website, its full line-up will be announced soon.
Early-bird tickets to the festival, starting from S$195 for a two-day pass, are currently on-sale at neonlights.sg.
