Jakarta. Actress Dian Sastrowardoyo and friends launched Mam, a restaurant that promotes healthy eating to support a range of diets for people with different needs, at Senayan City mall in South Jakarta on Thursday (16/03).

Mam is an extension of their successful online catering business 3 Skinny Minnies that Dian established in 2014 with co-founders Tana Suwardhono, Reina Latief Wardhana and Jessica Halim.

The popular online service — with more than 73,000 Instagram followers — offers a five-day catering service to a variety of customers, for brides-to-be, expecting mothers, breastfeeding mothers and more. Prices vary from Rp 1 million ($75) to Rp 3.9 million.

Catering to different people with different dietary requirements and its convenience appeared to be the main reason customers were attracted to the service.

With the exception of a few packages, 3 Skinny Minnies uses salt and sugar in their food. The gourmet-inspired menu offers a variety of protein including fish, meat and vegetables. Some of the dishes offered on the menu are: oven roasted salmon, bibimbap salad and grilled chicken quinoa.

3 Skinny Minnies claim that by following their five-day diet program, customers will be able to lose half a kilogram per day, or up to 2.5 kilograms by the end of the five-day week.

Following the success of their online business, Dian and friends decided to open a new restaurant with a menu offering food that is tasty and also healthy.

"We want to show to people that you don't have to suffer to lose weight," Dian said.

In Mam, customers have the option of dining a la carte.

Mam offers three types of wagyu beef as well as a chicken and fish burger that come in thin, whole-wheat buns.

Compared to the neighboring burgers next door — at Disastr, El Patron and Big Wave — Mam appears to offer healthier options which are less greasy, but also have a crunchy filling with less mayonnaise but are just as delectable.

Mam also offers teppanyaki grilled chicken sandwiches, beef and chicken rice bowls. Prices vary from Rp 76,500 to Rp 116,500.
