Jakarta. The newly formed committee of the Indonesian Football Association, or PSSI, has confirmed it will hold its first annual congress on Jan. 8 in Bandung, West Java.

PSSI has been reactivated after a long and exhausting dispute with the government that led to its suspension by world football's governing body FIFA, which was lifted in May.

In November, the association elected military general Edy Rahmayadi as its new chairman.

During the congress discussed will be long-term strategies as well as more urgent problems, such as Persebaya 1927 football club's license dispute with police-affiliated Bhayangkara FC, violent conduct of football fans, unstructured competition ladder and other issues.

"We've sent invitations to all stakeholders. We hope the congress will be successful," PSSI secretary general Ade Wellington said on the association's official website on Wednesday (28/12).
