Taiwanese Govt Committed to Continuing Agriculture, Fishery Partnerships
Jakarta. The Taiwanese government has promised to continue the partnerships in agriculture and fishery with Indonesia which has lasted for the past four decades.
The Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) head representative in Indonesia, Chang Liang-Jen, confirmed the continuation during an official dinner to celebrate the anniversary of Taiwan-Indonesia partnerships in Jakarta on Thursday (08/12).
Liang-Jen said the four decades have produced extraordinary results and assisted many Indonesian farmers.
“For more than 30 years, Taiwanese businesspeople have been involved in investing in farming and fishery sectors in various Indonesian regions,” he said.
He said technical assistance provided has helped farmers to increase the techniques in processing their land and marketing strategies, to allow their products to breach into supermarket chains in greater Jakarta area and other major cities.
“We have also established friendship between the citizens of both nations,” Liang-Jen added.
He concluded that in the future, Taiwan would still maintain its commitment to increase farming and fishery partnerships with Indonesia, as it would be aligned with Taiwan’s new policy to strengthen partnerships in the southern regions, especially with Asean member states.
“The new direction of this policy will make stronger partnership between Taiwan and Indonesia,” he said.
