AXA Mandiri FitNation Campaign Encourages People to Lead Healthy Lifestyle
Jakarta. Bancassurance company AXA Mandiri launched "AXA Mandiri FitNation," a campaign to encourage Indonesians to lead a healthy lifestyle, in Jakarta on Thursday (14/09).
"Health is the key to happiness," Jean-Philippe Vandenschrick, president director of AXA Mandiri, said in the press conference. "And yet, we often appreciate [health only] when we become ill. With FitNation, we want to encourage everyone to always stay healthy."
The campaign will be run mainly from the microsite www.axamandirifitnation.com.
"We've put a lot of health information and challenges on the microsite," Tisye Dyah Retnojati, in-branch channel director of AXA Mandiri, said. "All you have to do is register online."
The microsite offers articles on sports, healthy lifestyle and chronic illnesses, such as diabetes and heart disease. Most of them are written by doctors and specialists.
Registering on the microsite will also allow you to join Poundfit, Yoga and Zumba classes hosted by AXA Mandiri for free during the campaign.
There will be opportunities to win prizes by uploading pictures and videos from the free classes on your social media accounts.
Actress, TV host and Miss Indonesia 2002 Melanie Putria is the official ambassador for the campaign.
"It's a great honor for me to be able to participate in a campaign that encourages Indonesian people to keep healthy," Melanie said.
Despite her always-tight schedule, the self-proclaimed fitness enthusiast always manages to slip in time to jog and go to the gym every day.
"Actually, I used to hate all types of sports," the 35-year-old said with a laugh. "But then I was reprimanded for being too fat when I competed in the Miss Indonesia 2002 pageant."
Melanie never missed an appointment with her gym instructor since then.
"Exercising doesn't just keep me fit and slim, but also boosts my confidence and happiness," she said.
The campaign will end with a bang with the FitNation Festival, to be held at the Bintaro Jaya Xchange park in Tangerang on Sunday, Nov. 5.
"People can join various exercises and enjoy heaps of entertainment in the park on the day," Melanie said.
There will also be stalls selling healthy food and free medical tests all throughout the one-day festival.
"[The campaign] may not have a direct impact on our business," Vandenschrick said. "But in the long term, [the campaign] will help to raise awareness on the importance of protecting our health."
