Jakarta. Hundreds of violations, ranging from double-voting to intimidation, were reported during the simultaneous regional elections on Wednesday (15/02).

Misunderstanding of voting procedures by poll administrators was most prevalent in the elections, which were held in Aceh, Bangka Belitung, Banten, Gorontalo, Jakarta, West Sulawesi and West Papua.

Jakarta saw the highest number of the violation with 40 of the 61 reported cases, according to information the Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) released on Thursday.

Other violations included people voting at the wrong polling stations, people using others' voting invitations and shortages of ballot papers.

The lack of ballot papers was the second-most prevalent violation, with 34 incidents, but none were reported in Gorontalo and West Sulawesi.

Jakarta reported most of a wide range of election violations at 202 cases, while at least eight were reported in West Sulawesi.
