Jakarta. Acting Jakarta Governor Soni Sumarsono said all public services in the city have been available despite a mass Friday prayer protest rally against incumbent Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama.

"All public services are available. It is business as usual," Sumarsono told reporters.

He said residents did not need to worry about their activities on Friday (02/12), as the only area closed for business is the National Monument (Monas) complex in Central Jakarta, where the mass prayer was held.

"Sightseeing at Monas has been suspended, for the good of all, regardless of whether they participate in the prayer or not," he said.

According to the head of Bekasi train station, Syarif Hidayat, the number of commuter line passengers increased by almost 4,000 on Friday, as many were heading to Central Jakarta.

"In the morning until 9.30 a.m., there was a 30 percent increase in the number of passengers," Syarif said.
