Bogor. A police officer in Bogor, West Java, has been charged on suspicion of dealing drug after he was found to be in possession of 21 grams of crystal methamphetamine when he was arrested late on Saturday (19/03).
Bogor district police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Suyudi Ario Seto on Sunday said he had received information that one of his men – identified as Chief Brig. IM, an officer with the Leuwiliang subdistrict police – had been dealing drugs while on duty.
“I immediately instructed my drug unit to go to the Leuwiliang subdistrict police office where the suspect was on duty. We immediately arrested him,” Suyudi said.
Police confiscated 21.4 gram of crystal methamphetamine from the suspect along with an airsoft gun.
“At the moment, the suspect is still being questioned at the Bogor district police headquarters. We will not be lenient. If [the officer] is proven guilty, he will be fired.”
If found guilty, the officer could also face the death penalty.
