Police Question Witnesses in KPK Investigator Acid Attack Case
Jakarta. Police investigators have questioned a number of witnesses in relation to the recent acid attack on Novel Baswedan, a senior investigator in the Corruption Eradication Commission, or KPK.
Jakarta Police spokesman Chief Comr. Argo Yuwono said the witnesses include street vendors, security personnel and Novel's neighbors, who were at morning prayer with him just before the attack happened.
Argo said the police will not interview Novel again until he is fully recovered.
The police are working in partnership with KPK investigators to speed up investigation into the case. They will compare evidence after Novel returns to Jakarta from his medical treatment in Singapore.
Novel has been receiving treatment at an eye clinic in Singapore since Wednesday last week.
Before being taken to Singapore, Novel was treated at the Mitra Keluarga Hospital in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, and the Jakarta Eye Center in Menteng, Central Jakarta.
