Siti Aisyah Thought Kim Jong-nam Murder 'Was a Baby Oil Prank': Deputy Ambassador
Kuala Lumpur. Siti Aisyah, the Indonesian suspect in the murder of Kim Jong-nam in Malaysia, claims she was "hired" to play a "baby oil prank" on the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, deputy Indonesian ambassador, Andreano Erwin, has said.
Andreano was allowed to meet Siti for half an hour at the Cyberjaya Police's detention facility in Selangor on Saturday (25/02), local news outlet The Star reported.
Andreano said Siti was paid $90 to splash baby oil on Kim's face. She did not know who he was.
She also was not aware the liquid was not baby oil, but poison, Andreano said.
He added Siti said she did not know Doan Thi Huong, a Vietnamese suspect in the murder case.
CCTV footage shows that Kim was killed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Feb. 13, while waiting for a flight to Macau, with highly toxic VX, a nerve agent classified as a weapon of mass destruction and outlawed by the Chemical Weapons Convention.
He managed to seek medical assistance, but died en route to the hospital.
