Jakarta. Indonesian mixed martial artist Stefer Rahardian will defend his 5-0 record in a ONE Championship fight against Filipino hard-hitter Eugene Toquero in Manila on Friday (21/04).
Stefer, 30, who started his career in 2015 looks forward to meeting more experienced Toquero.
"Seven out of his eight wins are by knockout. That is something I need to watch out for, and obviously, even if I want to take him down, he is not going to stand on the spot and let me have my way without a hard fight," Stefer said of Toquero in a statement on Wednesday.
Toquero, 36, will be facing his 13th fight with his current record of 8-4.
Stefer, however, seems very confident. "I am on a five-fight win streak, while [Toquero] is on the first losing streak in his career," he said.
"I wouldn't be so cocky to say that I will take him down and submit him. Anything can happen in MMA, and Eugene has hard hands," he added.
Stefer's most recent fight was held in Jakarta in January, when he beat Jerome S. Paye of Liberia.
