Lifter Eko Yuli Irawan Breaks Records During National Sports Week
Jakarta. Weightlifter and Olympic medalist Eko Yuli Irawan won a gold medal and broke two records during the 19th National Sports Week, or PON XIX, at the Jalak Harupat complex in Bandung, West Java, on Tuesday (20/09).
Eko, who represents East Java in the 62-kilogram class, lifted 137 kg in snatch and 170 kg in clean and jerk, and broke the record of 306 kg total lifting, which he established himself during the National Sports Week in 2012. He also broke the clean and jerk record of Triyatno who lifted 165 kg in 2008.
Eko beat West Java weightlifter Muhammad Hasbi who earned silver with 280 kg total lifting and South Sumatra's Ardiansyah who won bronze with 262 kg.
