Jakarta. Pertamina Arden drivers Norman Nato and Sean Gelael are celebrating after both managed to earn points in the sixth round of the Formula Two championship at Silverstone in England over the weekend.
Frenchman Nato stood on the podium on Saturday (15/07) after finishing in second place, only eight seconds behind Charles Leclerc of Prema Racing.
Sean, the talented Indonesian driver, finished ninth after starting in 18th position on the grid. This earned him two points.
"A great struggle on Saturday as I started 18th and finishing ninth, congratulations to Nato for the podium," Sean said in a statement after the feature race.
On Sunday, Nato finished sixth while Sean was unlucky when his car skidded while in eighth place in the second-last lap, resulting in him finishing 17th eventually.
Canadian driver Nicholas Latifi of DAMS won Sunday's race, followed by Luca Ghiotto and Artem Markelov in third. Both drive for the Russian Time team.
Nato bagged 22 points at Silverstone, which saw him rise to sixth place in the drivers' standings, while Sean is still in 17th place with three points.
"Overall, the races were positive; hopefully this is the time for us to accelerate," Nato said.
With 70 points, Pertamina Arden is now in sixth place among the 10 teams in the constructors' standings, with an 11-point gap between itself and the fifth-placed Italian team, Rapax.
Prema Racing still tops the constructors' standings with 211 points, followed by DAMS in second place and Russian Time in third.
The next round of the Formula Two championship will take place in Hungary on July 29.
