Red Bull Boss Praises Indonesian Racer Gelael After Test Debut in F1
Jakarta. Indonesian racer Sean Gelael was praised by Formula One's Red Bull boss Christian Horner after he finished eighth with Red Bull's affiliated team, Toro Rosso, in his debut test at the Bahrain International Circuit on Tuesday (18/04).
Sean, 20, completed 78 laps with his best time of one minute and 33.885 seconds, ahead of Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel who finished ninth after recording best lap time of one minute and 33.894 seconds.
Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton was the best with one minute and 32.798 seconds.
"His time record was quite good, he has proven he can do it," Horner praised Sean, as quoted in a statement on Wednesday (19/04).
"The test was my dream coming true for me; to drive an F1 car is every racer's dream. But apart from this, I still need to focus on my current F2 campaign," said Sean.
As a Toro Rosso test driver, Sean will have another session in the Hungarian Grand Prix in July and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November.
