Official Poster of 'Surat Dari Praha' Movie Revealed
Jakarta. The official poster of "Surat Dari Praha," or "Letters from Prague," was revealed on Wednesday ahead of the movie's Jan. 28 release.
The poster depicts the film's lead actors, Julie Estelle and Tyo Pakusadewo, sitting inside a moving bus in the Czech capital.
Directed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko, the drama tells the story of Jaya (played by Tyo), an Indonesian who studied in Prague and lost his citizenship in 1965 after being suspected of being a communist sympathizer. Jaya's life in central Europe changes abruptly after a young woman named Laras (Julie) visits him in the present day to deliver a letter from his mother, Sulastri (Widyawati).
The film also features Chicco Jerikho and Rio Dewanto in supporting roles.
According to a press release received by the Jakarta Globe, "Surat Dari Praha" is inspired by true events. Julie and Tyo sing on the soundtrack, with songs "Sabda Rindu" and "Nyali Terakhir" composed by Glenn Fredly. Both songs are currently available on iTunes Indonesia.
"We are trying to present something new by combining music, romance, love and history in 'Surat Dari Praha,'" producer Anggia Kharisma said in a statement. "[The release of] this official poster marks the countdown to the film release in cinemas across Indonesia."
