Dutch Trance Legend Armin Van Buuren Goes Theatrical for Jakarta Concert
Jakarta. Dutch trance legend Armin van Buuren is set to kick off the Southeast Asian leg of his "Armin Only Embrace" tour at the Jakarta International Expo in North Jakarta on Jan. 31.
Armin will play hit songs from his latest "Embrace" album, such as "Strong Ones," "Another You," "Make it Right" and "Embrace."
As always, Armin will incorporate different genres into his music, mashing up trance with house, jazz, hip-hop, rock and pop.
The concert will also feature a list of top international musicians, including Mr. Probz, Dutch rock band Kensington, Dutch trumpeters Eric Vloeimans and Cimo Fränkel, Angel Taylor, Bullysongs and Betsie Larkin.
Dany Setiawan, founder of concert organizer Euphoric, said the concert is going to be quite theatrical.
"In contrast to his previous performances, this year Armin decides to integrate dance and theater into his music," he said in a statement.
The concert's promoter, Yudha Budhisurya, promises a spectacular stage and sound with international standard quality.
"This is going to be one of the most expensive sets ever built for a music concert in Indonesia," Yudha said.
Armin was once ranked the world's No. 1 DJ by DJ Magazine for five years in a row. Last year, the magazine put him fourth on the list.
Armin Only Embrace already toured Istanbul in Turkey, Marbella in Spain and Minsk, Belarus and Sofia in Bulgaria.
Tickets range from Rp 750,000 ($56) to Rp 3.7 million ($281).
