Jakarta. After a series of visits by international performers in recent weeks, Indonesia's own top bands and singers will finally have the capital city's spotlight for themselves when they share the stage for the Cinta Musik Indonesia (Love Indonesian Music) concert at Jakarta's Istora Senayan in October.

At a press conference at 3 Wise Monkeys restaurant in Jakarta on Tuesday, promoter Artha Bangun said it is time for local musicians to be in the limelight.

"My own children used to beg me so they could watch concerts by Korean stars or other international performers, but they never have the same affection for local musicians," Artha told Antara, the state-run news agency.

Cinta Musik Indonesia will feature top performers such as Maliq & D'Essentials, Afgan, Sheila On 7, Naif, Sore , The S.I.G.I.T, Payung Teduh, Float, White Shoes & The Couples Company, Endah & Rhesa and Teza Sumendra.

The show is promoted and organized by GGround, arbpro! and Robagu Kreasi.

Angga Puradiredja, lead vocalist of Maliq & D'Essentials, said that the concert would local musicians' morale.

"A concert like this will encourage local musicians to keep creating," he said, raising the issue of music piracy.

Visitors of the concert will have to pay Rp 150,000 ($10.50) to witness eight performance. Special shows will cost Rp 250,000 each, however, but a special pass to see all performances is available for Rp 800,000. Tickets of the last category can be bought at a 50 percent discount for the remainder of the month.

Tickets are available at Raja Karcis, Robagu Kreasi and 3 Wise Monkeys restaurant at Jalan Suryo, Senopati, Jakarta.
