Jakarta. A part of a highway overpass construction in Pasuruan, East Java, collapsed on Sunday (29/10), crushing workers, cars and motorcycles underneath it.
The overpass collapsed when construction workers were planting a supporting pillar underneath it on Sunday.
According to BeritaSatu, at least one construction worker died and two other were wounded in the accident. Four cars and two motorcycles were also crushed under the collapsed construction.
Police and local authorities were not able to say how many more people had been injured or killed by the accident since a rescue team is still trying to evacuate victims buried under debris.
The overpass is part of the 31.3-kilometer long Pasuruan-Probolinggo toll road.
