Jakarta. Police arrested two more suspected militants following last week's Islamic State-linked suicide bomb attack in East Jakarta.
The two suspects, only identified by the initials A.S. and B.F., were arrested in separate locations in Cipayung, East Jakarta, on Tuesday morning (30/05).
Police said the suspects had links to Ahmad Sukri, one of the two attackers who killed themselves along with three policemen on May 24.
"We are still digging deeper [into their backgrounds]," National Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Martinus Sitompul said.
He added that the suspects were taken to the headquarters of the police's Mobile Brigade (Brimob) in Depok, West Java, for further questioning.
Tuesday's operation follows the arrest of two suspected militants in Cibubur, East Jakarta, on Saturday and three others in Bandung, West Java, on Thursday last week.
All of them are suspected of involvement in last week's attack, in which two bombs exploded minutes apart near a bus station in Kampung Melayu.
It was the biggest terror attack since January last year, when four people died in a brazen Islamic State-linked attack in Central Jakarta.
