Sharon Stone Returns in Steven Soderbergh's Murder Mystery Mini Series
Jakarta. American actress Sharon Stone makes a surprise comeback in "Mosaic," a six-episode mini series directed by Oscar-winning Steven Soderbergh, slated for a five-day release on HBO Asia on Jan. 23-25.
A new episode of the series will be aired everyday at 8 a.m. Jakarta time with a same-day encore at 7 p.m. The series will also be available on HBO On Demand.
The mini series is a murder mystery with an ensemble cast featuring Sharon Stone ("Basic Instinct"), Garret Hedlund ("On the Road") and Maya Kazan ("Boardwalk Empire") among others.
The story is written by Ed Solomon, known for his work in "Men in Black," "Charlie's Angels," and the "Now You See Me" franchise.
Set against the backdrop of a mountain resort town, Mosaic follows successful children’s book author and illustrator Olivia Lake (Sharon Stone), a celebrity in the town's tight-knit community.
She meets a handsome newcomer, Joel Hurley (Garrett Hedlund) — an aspiring graphic artist, at a fundraiser.
She offers him a place to stay and work, but then Joel’s girlfriend Laura (Maya Kazan) arrives in town unexpectedly, and things get complicated from there.
When Olivia disappears on New Year’s Day, leaving behind a blood-soaked studio, Mosaic becomes an intricate whodunit, and it is up to detective Nate Henry (Devin Ratray) and Eric’s sister Petra (Jennifer Ferrin) to unravel the mystery.
The series was filmed in Park City, Utah, in the winters of 2015 and 2016.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Soderbergh also launched a mobile application on iOS and Android in November last year for users to watch Mosaic from different characters' point of views.
Unfortunately, viewers outside of North America are unable to use the app.
