Jakarta. A 19-year-old woman, identified as Siti Solihah, was found dead in her rented room in Bogor, West Java, on Thursday evening (02/06) after an apparent homicide.

Bogor District Police Adjutant Comr. Ade Yusuf Hidayat said residents discovered the body of the woman, who was commonly known as Sofie, at 11.00 p.m.

Despite witnesses being able to see Sofie through the window where she was lying in the living room, there was no response after knocking on her door multiple times.

It was only when residents finally broke through the door that they found that she had no pulse.

"Her body was found lying down, with her clothes slightly opened. There was also blood on her head and bruising around the neck," Ade said on Friday.

Police arrived on the scene after witnesses reported the incident. On closer inspection, they found multiple stab wounds on the woman's body.

"We found stab wounds on her head, and the bruising around her neck was from strangulation. We suspect this was a homicide, but we must conduct an autopsy to be sure," the officer stated.

Sofie's body has been taken to Ciawi General Hospital for an autopsy, while police are still gathering further information from witnesses.
