Jakarta. Indonesia won one gold, two silver and two bronze medals in the 2018 Asian Games rowing competition at Jakabaring Sport City in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Friday (24/08).

The host nation's ninth gold medal came from the men’s lightweight coxed eight event, which saw it beat Uzbekistan and Hong Kong to second and third place, consecutively.

Indonesia also won silver in the men's quadruple sculls and lightweight four categories.

The women's team contributed two bronze medals for finishing third in the pair and coxless four events.

Indonesia needs at least 16 gold medals to finish in the top 10 in the medal tally at this year's Asian Games.
