Indonesians Troll Ex-President Yudhoyono on Twitter
Jakarta. Ex-president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's habit of taking his grievances to Twitter backfired on Monday (06/02) when Indonesians roundly mocked his recent self-pitying tweets.
Yudhoyono took to Twitter to complain that his house in Mega Kuningan, South Jakarta, was stormed by a group of protesting students on Monday.
Yudhoyono directed his tweet to President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian, blaming them for not doing anything to protect an ex-president.
Yudhoyono's original tweet says: "I'm asking the president and the police chief — don't I have the rights to live in peace in my own country?"
Saya bertanya kpd Bapak Presiden & Kapolri, apakah saya tidak memiliki hak utk tinggal di negeri sendiri, dgn hak asasi yg saya miliki? *SBY*

Indonesians — whose capital Jakarta has been dubbed the world's most active Twitter city — soon rejoiced in trolling Yudhoyono.
By Tuesday morning, the top Twitter Indonesia trend was the hashtag #SayaBertanya (I'm asking) which people use on tweets mimicking and mocking the ex-president's melodramatic tone.
Twitter user @fathyle said "I'm asking the president and the police chief — those parking touts at minimarkets always appear out of nowhere just as I'm about to leave. Who are they really?"
#SayaBertanya Kepada bpk Presiden dan Kapolri, kenapa setiap kali ada tukang parkir indomaret saat mau keluar? saat dateng mereka tidak ada — knzoo (@fathyle) February 6, 2017
The next top trend was "Bapak Presiden dan Kapolri," or "The President and the Police Chief."
Another Twitter user @Papi_Ardi had said, "I am asking the president and the police chief, how come I love eating roast pork?"
Some also took the opportunity to make snide remarks against Agus Harimurti, Yudhoyono's eldest son who is running for governor in the Jakarta election on Feb. 15.#SayaBertanya kepada Presiden dan Kapolri, kenapa saya doyan makan babi panggang

One of them, Twitter user @martendoank, said he wondered why Yudhoyono's son had refused to be interviewed by famous TV host Najwa Shihab from Metro TV, when he seemed to be on friendly terms with Rizieq Shihab, the leader of the hardline Islamic Defenders Front, or FPI, who shares the same surname.
He said, "And I'm asking, why is Agus so afraid of Najwa Shibab when he's so chummy with Rizieq Shihab?"
#SayaBertanya mengapa agus begitu takut dengan najwa SHIHAB? padahal sama rizieq SHIHAB temenan..?? #Salam2Jari #AhokforJakarta

Previously, the head of the South Jakarta Police, Chief Comr. Iwan Kurniawan, said the protest at Yudhoyono's home, which attracted around 500 students, was dispersed by the police at 2.45 p.m.
During the protest, the students handed out paper leaflets to passersby containing messages of support to Indonesia's state ideology Pancasila, encouragement for law enforcers to continue their probe into high-profile graft cases and protest against discrimination and radical groups.
