GM Indonesia Offers Comprehensive Repairs Ahead of Idul Fitri Exodus
Bandung. General Motors Indonesia will provide comprehensive repair service for Chevrolet owners ahead of the Islamic holiday of Idul Fitri, which typically sees a mass exodus of Muslims from large cities to countryside towns.
The program, called "Lebaran Siaga 2017," will provide 20 pit stops along Java roads – five will be operated 24 hours per day – for 10 days, starting on June 22 and ending on July 1. The homecoming event associated with Idul Fitri, or Lebaran, is commonly known as mudik.
The homecoming event typically causes major traffic jams across Java; 17 million residents set out on the island's roads during the mudik season last year alone.
"We know traffic during mudik can be quite overwhelming. For that reason, we will once again launch Lebaran Siaga to ensure our customers are comfortable, and safe, during their trip home," GM Indonesia president director Gaurav Gupta said.
"We have placed pit stops from the very western edge to the very eastern edge of Java. Those centers will provide integrated service to customers, including routine check-ups, emergency repairs, car washes and even refreshments," Chevy's national service manager Putra Samiaji told reporters in Bandung, West Java, on Friday (19/05).
The five pit stops with 24-hour service will be located in Nagreg, West Java; alongside the Cipali Toll Road and in Alas Roban, Central Java; and in Saradan Madiun and Situbondo, East Java.
In addition, GM Indonesia will provide complimentary general check-up services to Chevy owners on June 1-30, Putra said.
