Jakarta. The Indonesian government released an official website as part of its preparation for the upcoming 2018 International Monetary Fund and World Bank meeting in Nusa Dua, Bali, a senior official said on Friday (25/08).
The site contains tourism-related information such as visa information and tips, press statements as well as a countdown to the event aimed at helping family members of the delegates plan their trip ahead.
"The site will provide information about the series of events in the [meeting]," Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said.
Luhut is the chairman of a national committee — known locally as PanNas or short for Panitia National — tasked with organizing the annual meeting.
The committee is expecting more than 15,000 delegates, business persons and journalists from 189 countries to attend nearly 3,000 meetings from Oct. 8 to 14 next year.
President Joko Widodo and other world leaders are also expected to attend the event.
"Indonesia, being elected [as a host], is a recognition from the world of its economic stability, political [climate] and security," Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said in a statement.
Sri Mulyani is the deputy chairwoman of the committee.
"This is an [opportunity] for Indonesia to show the world its success as a reformed, resilient and progressive economy," Bank Indonesia governor Agus Martowardojo said.
