Grab Introduces New Feature to Allow Drivers Instant Withdrawals
Jakarta. Online ride-hailing service Grab announced the launch of its new feature, Instant Cash Out, for its partnered drivers to allow instantaneous withdrawals.
With the new feature, Grab drivers with CIMB Niaga personal bank accounts will be able to instantly withdraw their earnings without having to wait the typical one-day processing time.
"Providing convenience and secure payments is our commitment to serve our drivers better and is part of our long-term program to improve their standard of living," Grab Indonesia’s marketing director Mediko Azwar said in statement released on Friday (18/08).
As part of Grab's registration process, new drivers are required to possess bank accounts to easily receive trip fares collected from Grab's online payment system, GrabPay. The company has stated it will help drivers without bank accounts register for one.
"We understand that many drivers are still hesitant to accept cashless payments due to the extra processing time for credit and debit transactions. We believe this new feature will make them more familiar with the cashless payments […] thus ease their access into the digital economy," Mediko said.
The Jakarta Globe and Grab are both affiliated with the Lippo Group.
