Jakarta. Online payment platform OVO announced a significant expansion in leadership, bringing in experts from Facebook, Visa, Grab, Lippo, Commonwealth Bank and MoneyGram.
This new team of experts, among them Lippo Digital group chief executive Adrian Suherman as president director of OVO, Grab's Jason Thompson as chief executive and Agustinus Risang Danurjati as director of human resources, will bring in a wide range of skill sets.
"We're very excited to develop the very first universal payment platform in Indonesia. We're working hard with our partners to create a payment ecosystem that will be beneficial for Indonesian people," Jason Thompson said in a press release on Friday (29/06).
"We're very happy to welcome Jason Thompson, Harianto Gunawan and Yelly Siriwan Aramserewong to the OVO team. Now we have the right people and skills to lead us into the next phase of OVO's growth. Our relationship with various financial institutions and tech partners in Southeast Asia will help us expand our ecosystem fairly quickly," Adrian said.
Since its launch early last year, OVO has become one of the fastest growing payment platforms in Indonesia, with retail partners across Indonesia. OVO has partnered with 70 percent of Indonesia's retail centers, including supermarkets, department stores, coffee shops, theaters and hospitals.
The Jakarta Globe and OVO are both affiliated with the Lippo Group.
