Takashi Ikematsu Appointed as President Director of Hitachi Asia Indonesia
Jakarta. Takashi Ikematsu was appointed as president director of Hitachi Asia Indonesia, the local arm of the Chiyoda-based Japanese multinational conglomerate said in a statement on Thursday (08/03).
Hitachi Asia Indonesia, which started operations in October 2013, has various businesses, including in power transmission, industrial components and equipment systems, data center services, distribution to information technology systems and products to marketing of automotive systems.
Ikematsu replaces Takuya Yamakawa, who will return to Japan as a division manager at Hitachi's railway systems business unit.
The statement said Ikematsu will be responsible for growing Hitachi's social-innovation business in Indonesia, a part of the company's aim to promote innovation by combining data, artificial technology and robotics into day-to-day equipment, the statement said.
"I am very excited to assume this new position to bring to Indonesia smarter infrastructure, a comfortable and convenient life, as well as a safe and secure society," Ikematsu said in the statement.
Ikematsu said Hitachi, among others, can contribute to improve security, payment and health care solutions in Indonesia.
"Indonesia is a promising market in Southeast Asia and it offers many business opportunities in providing Hitachi's social infrastructure products and solutions," Ikematsu, who is currently a manager in Hitachi's industry and distribution business unit.
His appointment will be effective on April 1.
